+ Attractive skinnable user interface
- No real-time virus guard
- Takes up 12.1 MB RAM in total (no running virus guard)
- System reboot needed after update
+ System reboot is needed if there is an update of the core components
+ good unpacking engine that scans inside several archive-formats and unpacks run-time-compressed exe-files

caused many problems
Unable to contact anyone after installing this trial version. Unfortunatley uninstall did not work, was left with files on my computer. Can not get support to remove. My url configuration settings disabled me from using internet admin site for my website. To date have not been able to fix.

Any comments from users?
I installed a paid version of BD and immediately noticed my computer slowed to a bloody crawl! I pay for DSL and BitDefender has made my computer page loading time slower than the slowest landline ISP!!! When I disable BitDefender I get my computer back! Speeed and ease of surfing and loading times of pages--increases tenfold without BitDefender enabled! Now my problems is: do I sacrifice the speed I want for a virus scanner that runs all the time in the background? Anyone else notice your computer loading time slowed to a crawl with BD?

Very satisfied with this one antivirus. The virus content scanner immediately blocked any infected file on access and caught every single virus i had. No system overload, fast updates.

Features:

Includes Anti Virus, Personal Firewall, Behavior Blocker, Internet filtering, Privacy control, P2P Protection and a very very useful feature: the Live Update module that permits 8 hour periodical updates without intervention from the user or a scheduled update every time you go online. The Live update saves you from any trouble since it uses file integrity verification. The product includes also many other cool options like the URL blocking options and the SHELL EXTENSION module, which allows the user to scan quickly with a simple right click on a file or folder.
What is more to it, their support is really cool offering a very fast reply.

Bad points:
I did not find any

Good points:
Installation is very simple with low system requirements
Has features of a personal firewall
The interface is very easy to follow with simple configuration on the scheduler
Well-written documentation
High detection and disinfection rates
Good value for money

Long review:

Using BitDefender Professional offers the combined protection of a personal firewall as well as of an antivirus. There are six modules of protection all aimed at offering a high system protection. You have an innovative behavior blocker which adds to the Internet filtering and Privacy control to insure a very good protection while browsing the Internet.
The P2P protection module offers additional peace of mind for viruses that may enter a system via P2P applications- ICQ, MSN messenger, Net Meeting and Yahoo! Messenger.
Overall, a worry-free and effective protection with inexpensive cost.

Bit Defender 8 is the latest in this software. Easy intergration with win 98 through win xp. No software conflicts. Scans all files if desired. One of the best out there with the exception of ESET NOD32. I have tried everything and Bit Defender and ESET NOD32 are the best hands down!!!
