Windows xp sp2 - and ZA
Have used free and purchased versions of ZA. Frankly, like the freeware better.
Am frustrated by ZA request to install non-existent Hot Fix. To update ZA - it appears would be forced to move to SP3 of WinXp---No thanks! So will be forced to move to another firewall....boooo-do not like that---ZA only one that my sweet lady can use at present---oh well such is life....sigh

ZoneAlarm ease of use
I have found this utility to be exactly what the doctor ordered. Provides the necessary protection, easy on the resources.

zonealarm
i must admit over the past 5 years of being on the net i have yet again come back to zonealarm, it is easy to use and does block and allow what and who you want blocked and allowed. the free kerio is the one im about to ditch and replace with zonealarm. kerio is slowing down the net to a crawl and blocking explorer...like hello.. for free, yes zonealarm is a goody.

ZoneAlarm And NOD32
I tried outpost, i use it personaly because it is the best for advanced users, the only problem is I use NOD32 THE BEST ANTI-VIRUS SYSTEM EVER! And outpost blocks it, so i use ZoneAlarm for my begginer users, because i fix computers.

ZoneAlarm
I have tried Norton, Mcfee, BlackIce, Sygate and Outpost Zonealarm pro beats them all in overall functionality, no java/scrpit, no BoF, no trace back-important if you want to remain stealth, no single packet ins or outs without your permission-aka-leak test, and securing IM eg. windows messenger and skype.

ZoneAlarm
I've been using Norton for a little while now and it's probably the worst spyware i've ever used making my life difficult with surfing the web. Zone Alarm has been pretty good and having a good user interface makes it even more attractive.

Zone Alarm (Free version)
I was introduced to this utility by a good friend. Very easy to use. Configures itself and has free, automatic updates.

the best
The best. Rock-solid, full of features, and easy to use. It's free!!! Great. Outpost Free is good too, as it has more features, but is not as effective.

Security
I have been using it for about 2 years and it is simply excellent for a freeware program.

Summary of Zone Labs
This is a great Free software for home users. It has got all the feature a home user need. Simple interface. Easy to customize and download. Been using it for years. Just smack it there on your computer and you are safe to surf the net. Don't even need to care about it. It works great and have protected me from lots of hackers until they don't come and hack my computer already.

ZoneAlarm Pro
It's great firewall software i have ever come across. XP firewall failed, norton bothers a lot while surfing. But absolutely no problems with ZoneAlarm. WIth proper even without configuration it work well and silently. got to download...

ZoneAlarm
ZoneAlarm has a nice clean interface and techinically works really well. The problem is that I have consistently found that my connection "drops" and I get no net anywhere on my system. When I turn off ZoneAlarm completely, the net suddenly reappears. I have heard this happen to serveral other people and its very frustrating. Though it does work well, it works to such a point that the only way to control it is to remove it entirely.

Not perfect, but damned close
It's program recignition list is apparently not exactly huge, as I still had to disable it while running a few game servers for them to connect to the internet properly, but for a free program, it simply cannot be beat.

ZoneAlarm
The best firewall program ever, plus other great features! It not only warns you of all ingoing and outgoing internet activity, but it will block the things you want it to.

I find Zone Alarm to be one the most useless programs for a firewall I've ever used. It is excellent for locking up the computer but other than that, I can see no use for it. There are much better free firewalls available.
