Just try

Not as good as it claims!
I purchased shield deluxe in the ope that it would provide good protection and not slow the operation of my computer. Unfortunately it failed miserably. Whilst I was disappointed that it did slow the operation of my computer I thought I would persevere with it as I hoped it would provide good protection. Unfortunately it failed at this too. My computer got a virus which managed to kick this software into touch. It managed to uninstall the software too! I contacted the manufacturers who responded with a number of automatic responses before suggesting I would get a better response from their live support feature online. Well this could not have been further from the truth. The whole point of their live support seemed to be to make you so frustrated that you would look elsewhere for a solution. After two failed attempts to get a response I finally got chatting to their "support team" who left a delay of around 20mins between chat responses for 6hours before finally admitting that they could not help and that I should contact their support team by email!
As this had failed too. I ended up downloading AVG free antivirus software which dealt with the problem. I would not recommend Shield Deluxe or the company who pedals it to anyone.
I had Shield Deluxe 2008 and when I purchased 2010 version after 2 years of use, the new program would not run. Tek support tried 2X with 3 people to correct, but still will not scan an dlooks for non-existing Microsoft updates. First tech claimed my computer had a virus and then offered to clean up my computer for extra cost. I declined, he then removed some of my anti malware programs from my computer and sent me an email claiming I had an infected computer. I scanned my computer an d found no such virus. Second & third techs were able to clean up some flasing red warning messages, but problems still remain. Second tech was also asking if I had a "tune-up" done lately on my computer. Buyers should be on guard!
