I've been using this editor at home and at work the last year.
I love it and have convinced other collegues to use it instead of other tools for binary editing, and they all use it dayly.
Notepad++ interface is nice and easy to use, and includes many good features, which make work easier. Fx. when working on files from a source-safe utility (Visual Source Safe), the user can't edit the file unless it's checked out in VSS. This is opposed to other editors which let you edit such files while thinking you can save them in the end, which will be impossible due to the fact that they are not checked out.
Such small and clever featuer are what makes Notepad++ so powerfull.
And that's appart from the other features like culm, effective and highly costumizable syntax highlighting for meny languages, and countless plugins which all are embedded in the small installation file.
