Kerio Personal Firewall
Reviews for Kerio Personal Firewall

coolness
omg!
this is the best fire wall i've had in a long time.It Is light on the pc and dosent slow down your browser. It's really powerful and a great tool. I love it!

Kerio Free Firewall
I think Kerio free personal firewall should be the first choice if you are looking for a top notch free firewall. It is very easy to use and passed every firewall test I have tried. I tried Comodo firewall and did not like all the extra crap they send you in their launch pad. I like that Kerio finger prints your stuff, that alone makes it real hard for someone to get by. It's just a Great Firewall!

At $14.95..ae you kidding me?
I bought the paid version at $14.95 and this firewall, at 9mb only, is powerful, vitually invisible to port scans, and does not slow you to a screeching halt. The power of this firewall is something. At this price, this is a deal no kidding!!!

Mike98 review
Mike 98 don't know what he is talking about I have been able to uninstall and reinstall it perfectly he must have some computer problems that he is not aware of. Plus this firewall is listed on most of those websites that help you with spyware removal and help you fix your computer this is one of the best firewalls I have ever used! I would recommend it to anyone who don't have a firewall installed on their computer.

Horrible Disaster
I downloaded Kerio Personal Firewall 4 from their website. After installing I ran Symantec Security Check and found that Kerio leaves ports open and closed, but not stealthy. Therefore I tried to uninstall Kerio via control panel, but it stated an error and didn't uninstall, also I could not even delete the downloaded .exe file on my desktop, it stated I am not authorized to this file. Finally I formated the hard disc drive and installed all programs again. Do not download this rubbish!

best on market
we have tried many fire walls none compare to Kerio and it doesn't surprise me in the lease.

Kerio
Kerio Firewall is the best, forget the rest!

The Best
This is the BEST software firewall I've ever used!!!!! I have tried many other software firewalls like: Zone Alarm 4, Sygate Personal Firewall 5, Outpost Personal Firewall 1.0, Tiny Personal Firewall, and BlackIce Defender and KERIO HAS OUT PERFORMED ALL OF THEM!!! Out performed them in stability and security. I would suggest this to any one who want a stable and powerful firewall that REALLY WORKS!!! On my Windows XP Professional PIII system Kerio OUT PERFORMED ALL THE OTHERS BY FAR!!! I'm looking foward to learning how to set advanced rules as well. My personal opinion is that Kerio Personal Firewall IS THE BEST!!! Keep up the good work Kerio!!

I just wanted to add...
A couple things that convinced me to go with Kerio is:
1) You can download preset rules/filters that will protect your pc depending on your level of paranoia of security requirements.
2) It plays/works well with other firewalls like zonealarm. It perform perfectly with other firewall solutions (for the truly paranoid). Like my spyware detection I don't rely on one product (Adaware + Spybot) I use 2 firewalls plus a hardware router to ensure my server is secure.
I can confidently say I've never been compromised in all the time I've been up on the net!
For my personal pc I only use Kerio as my software firewall. Works Great and recommend it highly for the pionts I mention as well as the issues broughout by the other reviewers.

The Firewall for me
I like Kerio because it "learns" and for more familiar users, you can create "rules". I ran it for a while, learned how it works, and the set up the rules.
I have two browsers (Opera and MSIE5) and I've set it up so that only these two programs can access the internet (other than the start-up programs such as DNS). After setting it up, I asked KPF not to warn me about port scans. Went to Shields Up to check on KPF activity, and I'm done.
It works perfectly, it's fast, it's free and I'm more than happy!

Great Firewall
It's the only one I use and I've used alot of other.
Lite on the computer resources and as secure as any of the others..

Nice piece of Software!
Its small, nice, easy, simple, but really powerfull, it makes your computer virtually Invisible to port scans. And its free for Home use. A must!

Kerio Personal Firewall
Well, as a hacker just installed a FTP on my nice WINXP workstation and just wanted to gain Admin rights, i thought it might be time to get a firewall :D. I used Zone Alarm some month before the even but it looks to childish and takes a lot of resources.
However:
KPF is splitted into 2 parts
1. the Firewall
and
2. The Firewall Admin
Together they take about 9MB Ram.
The firewall blocked all access from the hacker who scanned me a second time (lol).
The learnbydoing feeling of the firewall. (you open a new programm and the firewall asks if the programm can access the internet) makes the Firewall really easy to use.
Im sure by defining some rules a better way i could even increase the security but as far as i am concerned.
IT WORKS :)

Kerio Personal Firewall
I like this product. It has a nice interface, is easy to use, detects a variety ofincoming and outgoing suspicious events. You can Permit or Deny one time, or tell it to make arule to permit or deny always. It has separate permission for "access the internet" and for "start another program". It is a direct descendent of Tiny Person Firewall, which was well-regarded. I think it's just as good as ZoneAlarm.

I just spent two weeks trying to attack this Firewall (within my own network of course). I wanted to see if the default settings were 'good enough' to hide from NMAP scans. I used Wireshark to sniff the traffic, and to my surprise, Kerio Personal Firewall performed very well. I even tried performing a Zombie scan from a 'trusted host' - The Firewall permitted a ping response to the trusted host, but detected the NMAP scan and "went into hiding." Well, NMAP is out for now, so I'll try another tool next week, maybe.... METASPLOIT? NESSUS? Who knows....
