IncrediMail Xe Build 532 reviewReviews for IncrediMail Xe Build 532

11111 Incompatible Resource Hugger with too many technical problems

Not only does this software need a tremendous amount of system resources for the simple task of editing and sending e-mails, it is also rather buggy and either crashes frequently or does not send or receive messages properly.

Moreover, the manufacturer makes it difficult to obtain the Gold Gallery contents that one pays for. The Internet is full of reports from people who cannot access the Gold Gallery after buying it, being constantly redirected to the "buy it" page. The standard answer from customer service: use IE, reset all web and security settings to their defaults, grant IncrediMail all rights and permissions as trusted software, block or delete all other cookies, and so on. Even users desperate enough to do that risky nonsense often have no luck and still can't get what they paid for. All the company would have to do is provide a friggin' download link instead of all the hassle, but they simply won't do it.

Other dubious business practices consist in their constantly removing functionality from the main package and charging extra for it. A spam and junk filter should go without saying these days, especially when one purchased the software, but junk filter and security protection both cost an additional annual fee. Tools to import/export messages, backup data cost extra, too, and often these basic operations/functions can only be realized with expensive third party utilities.

As for the program features themselves, they leave a lot to be desired. Sure, at first sight the animations, pictures and sounds look impressive, but very soon, anybody who's not a teenage girl will find themselves looking for something different and more elegant than pink kitten cartoons. Elegant stationery for art, media, business or presentations are very few and far between.

Contact management is simply a joke, with any freeware program from a single author offering more and better possibilities to save your contacts details. The same goes for calender/task scheduler and the absence of a mass mailing functionality for newsletters or the like.

In the end, IncrediMail is a lot of smokes and mirrors, hiding inferior programming techniques and a very greedy business model. A good HTML Editor plus a decent e-mail software like The Bat and the free e-mail software from German or Japanese authors (far more professional and versatile) beat the living **** out of IncrediMail any time.

11111 IncrediMail

I have used IncrediMail since it first came out. Of course, being a business owner, it is totally inappropriate. However, it was a fun program to send email to friends and family. With the last download, we started having serious problems. When you send email, it shuts the program down and a pop-up error comes up with a message to send an error report to IncrediMail. I can receive incoming emails but most of my outgoing emails never work. They just added 3D and availability to put your own photo in outgoing emails. That has never worked. In addition with the new version, you can not longer print email message, coupons, or any incoming email messages. I am so disappointed since I really loved the program. My husband gave up and abandoned the program about 6 months ago due to the problems I described. Do not bother to write tech support either because you will NOT get a response. What surprises me is that they are still adding new email letters, email cards, sounds, and animations. I wonder what happened to the program and why no one will help resolve the problems? I was/am a VIP user so this is very disappointing when you invest in a program that you think after taking your money will be around to support their program...

33333 Please give back the free junk mail filter

I used to love IncrediMail and appreciated that it was free. The latest upgrades that you HAVE to make have ruined the program for me.

11111 Added Incredimail XE and want the old program back

I added the free Halloween Skin but they
said I had to upgrade to the newest version first. The mail server doesn't
put any of it in Junk mail category
anymore it all comes under Inbox and I
hate it. I want my old program back
that I had before. How do I do that?
Also I want that meet singles off my
computer. I am not single.

it's pretty simple. I'm not impressed with the way incredimail treated it's premium customers. We recieved the promise of unlimited downloads/entire page downloads/access to all notifiers/animations/sounds/ecards - all of it. All you had to do was pay a 1 time lifetime fee of XXX dollars. SO i did and was in fact very, very happy with the program for a period of time. I even told all my friends about it and how great it was. Low and behold one day I reloaded my system and downloaded the lastest version of incredimail. To my surprise I was no longer able to download the same notifiers/letters/animations/sounds/ that I previously had done just days before, somewhere incredimail decided that thier premium customers now had to pay more money to access the same things they were already downloading after paying the lifetime user fee. I thought perhaps sending them an email, they would automatically update thier current premium user to their new "gold" gallery after all - we were already paying for use of the entire site including all available features, WELL GUESS WHAT??? -- they wouldn't do it. I tell you I was absolutely LIVID with this decision. Not only did I feel like a got ripped off - I was no longer able to download all of my favorite notifiers and other features that I had already payed for. I sure would like to know who it was that decided to do that to all of thier premium customers because i would certainly like to tell them how to practice simple good business tactics and how to treat long term customers that had been with them since the beginning HAPPY. After all, how hard would it of been for them to send a new reg code for all previous premium users??? I sure would like someone to explain to my why that wasn't done because they can't seem to answer that!!
I still use the program and the only reason I do was because the version I'm currently using still has the free junk mail filter - NOW you have to pay for that too -- good thing I back up my executable files!! I'll never upgrade and will never, ever give those people any more of my money. I'm just waiting for them to create a platinum module and ask their gold members to pay more money for the same things they're download now !! just wait - it'll happen!!

11111 No support, incompatibility probs wirh Yahoo

What a joke this turned out to be. No response from Incredimail to my cries for help despite their claim that Premium buyers (VIPs) get first bite of the cherry. Can't get it to work with Yahoo despite all the help from that mob. Total waste of money. Don't buy. Stay with what you like and what works. Incredimail sucks.

55555 Remarkable email client

I have owned and used this email client for 4 years and love it. Numerous stationary to use, both from their website as well as from third party creators. Just do a search on the web for IM stationary and you will be overwhelmed by the variety. Extremely easy to use and adding any graphics you find from the web while browsing web pages is as simple as right clicking the image and add to you incredimail library. The Gold gallery is not needed nor advised with so many other sites to download stationary from, and the spam email blocking is only a minor headache considering everything else this software has to offer. If you still have doubts, do that search on the web for incredimail stationary. I guarantee that once you see the enormous variety of stationary you can use with this program, you will be compelled to download the program.

11111 Slow, very expensive, resource consuming...

The latest is that when you upgrade to version 2077 the spam filter is changed with a new one that is disactivated by default and you have to pay a yearly suscription to activate it.

That means that to buy Incredimail, not see their publicity banners and avoid spam, you have to pay around $ 90 the first time and $ 40 each year to be protected against spam plus at least $ 25 a year if you want to be a Gold Member which gives you more backgrounds and other graphics to use.

This product is flashy but has compatibility problems and bugs. The sheer massive size loads slow, slows the machines down, and competes w/other software. Maybe someday they'll get it right.

44444 Incredimail

I've been using Incredimail for about 4 years now. I've really enjoyed it. They have added some features I've requested that have made it a really nice program to use. If I were to find fault at all, it would be that they have begun to get gready and seem to want to charge more for each new feature they add now. Some of which were promised to be free when I originally bought my software. Otherwise, it's still my first choice in E-mail programs. Great fun to be able to create your own E-mails.

22222 Incredimail

If you use AOL I would suggest you do not download or use this program. Even the Delux version will bring tears to your eyes. I have a horror story....I purchased it and set it up for my AOL and much to my horror I watched as it downloaded every single piece of mail from all my screen names into one folder. It downloaded old mail, new mail, saved mail, and deleted mail all into one folder. What a mess. I got 12,000 mails before I unplugged it. What is worse is it is NOT Comatible with AOL because it is not IMAP compatible. Read the small print when and where it says it is so you don't go through the horrors I went through. I wrote them because there is no phone support what so ever. It took them a week to answer my concerns and when they did all they would say was that Incredimail is compatible with AOL. Nothing about how to fix the problems or to tell you how to do things. The second mail took another week and answered on one question out of five. Online FAQs only cover the cutsie stuff. If their programmers would worry more about the working parts instead of the cute visual effects of your mail flying away or some stupid butler popping out on your screen to tell you that you have mail then maybe, just maybe they would have something. THIS IS A WARNING TO AOL USERS. To others...If AOL has problems with it I wonder what other services do too.

11111 incredimail

New version went too far. Cannot open incoming and outgoing photo attachments without crashing. Have paid version, but support insists on tweaking this and that and deleting the whole sent items file. Composing snails out to impossible as soon as an emoton is added. Crashes and crashes. If you don't need to exchange photos, this is OK, otherwise, don't use this frustrating turkey.

I was looking for a fun way to spice up my e-mail and found Incredimail through a Google search.
Not only is it easy to set up, but it is loads of fun. Who ever though sending e-mail could be a joyful thing to do?
Incredimail imported all my settings from my webmail account and has worked perfectly since the day I installed it.
The main thing I love about Incredimail is the notifiers.I like knowing immediately when I have new mail and this program announces new mail in some of the most unique ways.
Incredimail is a must have.
