11111 Hard drive copy

As far as I remember I successfully cloned hard drive back in Feb 2010. I tried to clone several drives recently but it failed every time. Initially it reminds me that free edition offers basic copying functionality. Every time I use the drive to drive copy function, it responded with positive result without any read/write errors. Each copy took (120GB drive to 120GB drive) 4 to 6 hours. Unfortunately those copies became unusable. You cannot boot from those, more over system cannot recognize the drives. Anyone know what is going on? I am using windows XP.

55555 Able to read past bad sectors for me.

I don't know how that guy had a 'new' drive with data on it or how the heck that 'new' drive was only 20GB in 2006...but it's probably user error.

HDCLONE is great. Acronis failed on the reboot, but HDCLONE was able to work around it.

33333 clonning of a hdd to another

I treid with this software. Actually i was using same capacity hdd and wanted to transfer all my data from one to another. But all the time i tried it asked me for higher capacity hard disk drive. At the same time i found this software more easy and user friendly. The thing is that this software should work atleast with same capacity hard disk drive.

55555 Brilliant

Fantastic product. All I wanted to do was clone my old (small) drive to a new one. Of all the products I tried, this was by far the best and quickest. It managed to copy an 8Gb drive in 23 minutes. Superb!

22222 HDClone 3.1 is not very good

HDClone is not very good! I teied to copy a Seagate 20Gb drive to a Maxtor 80Gb. both drives were new. All I wanted is to get the data from the Seagate to the new Maxtor so it would be my boot drive. HDClone 3.1 would get to 86% then start Read and Wrire Erroes! I tried it in other drives abd got the same at 86%! I think this is built in the program so you will go buy the new Program! You would be better off going to Maxtor or Seagate web site and down load their program to transfer your files! After all they are FREE IF you have one of thetr drives.

44444 HD Clone is a solid Disk Clone Tool

HD Clone is a great tool for copying disks that are in trouble. HD Clone can read around the bad sectors unlike many other cloning utilities which crash when the drive cannot be read for a moment or two. It is more expensive that DiskPatch, but is way easier to use. Select your disks and away you go. I have used this utility to successfully clone a drive with a problem of spinning down frequently. One feature that would be awesome in a cloning tool is the ability to continue a session after a power failure, very few people have a ups that will sustain a copy over a sustained power failure, and many of these clone jobs take over 12 hours.

55555 Simple and Powerful

This worked for me when other disk utilities didn't. I just wanted to clone my old HD /w OS to my new & bigger WD HD. Even the WD utility couldn't do that without generating runtime errors!
And for FREE....!!!
