Aside from the fact that they try to hide the fact that they charge a transaction fee, their software is fragmented, disjointed, and buggy.

It is broken up into two parts- a so-called Wizard that runs on your PC (sorry, MAC users), and a web interface. There is overlap between the two which causes confusion. If you make a product change, you can not preview the changes without first uploading your store, which means it goes on-line. You then have to upload it a second time to be able to create a rescue file- otherwise you can not retrieve your store. There is even a situation where you have to do a dummy upload from your PC when you use their web interface, otherwise changes made on the web interface won't take effect. Ridiculous!

Customer support is insulting and rude. They consistently push back if you report a problem in their software to them. For example, if you click on a product, and a DIFFERENT product opens for editing, they say that is fine and there is no problem.

Fortune3 offers an over-priced and very clumsy approach to eCommerce, and their support is worthless. If you need eCommerce, go elsewhere.

I am very pleased with the Fortune3 ecommerce software and also with their website hosting services and customer support.

I think that this program can achieve results comparable to the large online shopping carts. Among hosted shopping carts Fortune3 is an excellent choice.

If you’re looking for a good shopping cart provider I would recommend you don’t use fortune3. I have been less than satisfied with their services. I have found my website to be offline several times and my customers have told me that they wanted to buy something from my website and it was not working, freezing up and then completly dissapering like it was never there for 1-4 hours at a time. I called them to ask about this and they told me it would be up again soon. This has been quite disruptive to my business. The service is a little bit expensive for what it offers. It seemed reasonable at first but there were some extra fees which came into effect after I joined. I don’t like paying so much for this service and will be looking for something that doesnt have so many problems and offers a 99.9 uptime.. I’m quite upset with them really. Their support people are not very good either as they are quite ugly with you and impatient. Yet they are always telling me to be patient as they “deal with the issues” on the website. I wish they had told me they had “issues” when I was paying them. I will be looking for another shopping cart to move my website too very soon. There are much much better services out there than fortune3. It should be called UNFORTUNE3..

Fortune3 cart is Terrible! I liked this service at first, but after signing up I found out that there were hidden fees. A huge percentage of my sales went to fortune3 which is not really advertised on their site. I spent days, weeks, lot of time adding products so I ended up staying with them. For a year now my husband and I have had a lot of trouble getting the cart to work right, the website is down just about every day and I am not kidding!

Because the shopping cart is hosted on Fortune3.com servers (not optional) you have no choice but to deal with it. Their Support is terrible. When I’ve tried to let them know about problems on the cart or when the web store is down they are very blunt and just darn RUDE! As a small company my husband and I have complained numerous times and they just don't care, they tell us that we just have to be patient and deal with it. I believe that their administrators (David Farache) and owner(s) of the company are not very mature and are not willing to service their product. This situation has been extremely frustrating!

Fortunately I see a light at the end because we have recently moved our webstore to a new Cart and it looks like it is a 120% better than fortune3 shopping cart. My website is always up, there are no extra sales fees and they have best support ever. Very nice people. I hope this helps someone, because I was not very happy using Fortune3 cart.

Its performance is good, like no other ecommerce software that I ve tried. The small online store that I built looks professional. I slected one of the many template designs that come with the program.

I also like how fast and simple to use this online shopping cart is. I didn t have to worry about my website design.

I hope that the SEO (search engine optimization) that the company offers is true. I believe they do, because I made some quaries in google for some of the products offered by the featured ecommerce stores appearing in the Fortune3 web site; and some of the results are in google s first page.

Complete and simple is what i' d say about this shopping cart - this is one of the few windows based online store builders that uses the pc resources - because it is a pc based program -not a web based shopping cart builder- you can use its graphic interface to move-arrange products and categories using drag-and-drop on what they call the product tree - so i believe this software was build in visual studio using access databases. Modifying and editing the online store results easy. Accepts a large website storefront - mine has 11,000 products: My data was imported from spreadsheet (using excel) - their stock templates (about 200) look good - many types. Appearance and performance compares to large corporations.

Cons: you must host only with the company
