Acronis True Image
Reviews for Acronis True Image

Windows vista and true image 10
True Image 10 blocked my coputer. After 3 weeks work on my new Toshiba satellite with Windows Vista a put back an image of my C drive. The result was a failure of the startup process.
Support was very poor, unfortunately, I was asked to create a infosys rapport with intructions like:
Type
# cat /proc/partitions
choose from:
8 0 127744 scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc
3 0 80417183 ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc
3 1 10241406 ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1
3 2 20482875 ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2
3 3 1020127 ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part3
create a moint point:
# mkdir /mnt/tmp
# mount -t auto /devfs/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc /mnt/tmp
After a few hours a managed to create this file and send it to acronis.
A few weeks later the question arrived for another file to create...
My conclusion is that Acronis true image is not ready for Windows vista and Acronis support is very poor!

Tru Image 10 & 11
True Image 10 and 11 does not work with motherboard with the newer Intel® P35 / ICH9 chipset. So check your board before you buy or else get stuck with it while waiting for future software releases. I've been waiting since True Image 10, and 11 still does not support ICH9.

Acronis True Image 9
I can't believe all these positive reviews. Even Chris's review from Jan07 has 5 star, even though the product does not work for him?
True Image has let me down so many times it's not funny. Whenever I needed to do a system restore it failed. Tech Support was useless. Very slow to get started... gosh, when I have a problem with restore I can't wait a week for a response! Numerous emails later they concluded it was a hardware problem. Very interesting... but I could not disprove it till I got a replacement motherboard (for another reason) and had the same issue.
So now my system died again. Started getting read arrors from 1 drive in my RAID system. Created a restore CD. Booted with the CD - got an error, pages of text on a black sereen, too much info to be useful. Of course you can't get these folks on the phone. So what do you do with that info? The CD was created on the same exact hardware I was booting from, so can't be a driver issue. (Only disks were replaced) Luckily, a few days prior, I had made copies of my partitions with partition magic and was able to restore to new disks. After the system was back I tried again - a newly made restore CD behaved the same way! So then I try to access archive from the desk-top and get an error message that the archive is corrupt! I checked the log of the backups - no errors, a few warnings about an unavailable removable drive. So it backs up happily, no errors - and you can't access the archive! What a useless piece of SW...

Acronis True Image
The scheduler would not work. The Wizard choices are not self-apparent.
I wrote their support with specific questions that were not in their knowledge base and I got a form letter back telling me to uninstall and reinstall the program. That approach went out in the 90s.
I havbe started searching again for a better company.

Acronis rulezz forever!
I'm a fan of this company. It produces easy-working products.
I am happy to own two Acronis products: True Image and Privacy Expert. I feel safe with this software!
When virus attacked my computer I tried to repair it using my antivirus program. It found this virus and tried to remove it. However antivirus failed to fix the situation. Fortunately, I had a backup of my system made with True Image and I successfully restored it. So I was able to update my antivirus program. It took about 10-15 minutes to make my computer alive!! It really ROCKS!!!

Safe and simple
I recently purchased Acronis True Image 8.0, and have been better satisfied with it more than with any other software I've used in some 22 years of owning personal computers.
It is amazing how easy to use the product is. It really does wonders! I used Acronis True Image to create an image of my PC that contained very important data and it was significant that it all was copied and preserved in its original way. A few days later my computer crashed. I inserted Acronis rescue bootable media, restored the image from my networked drive.and thats it! Here is my computer as it was before the crash with all my data safe and sound!!!! Never before have I managed to do it so easily and quickly!

I have tried many backups and Acronis True Image is by far the best
After trying just about every backup software out there, Acronis True Image is by far the fastest, most complete and take it from a novice - very easy to use. I just wish that I had found this great software sooner!

Acronis True Image 8.0
After 2 1/2 years my notebook's hard drive was about to quit. Thanks to Acronis True Image 8.0 I was able to get the partition imaged, and then reloaded perfectly on a new drive. This saved me a week of reloading all my software, restablishing all my personal settings, etc. I didn’t spend hours and hours moving stuff to a new hard drive, and I can't believe how easy this was. I honestly didn't think it would work "as advertised," but man, did it ever.
Acronis True Image was absolutely straightforward to use (this is the first time I've ever imaged and restored a disk), and worked perfectly the first time. I turned on my computer with the new hard drive in it, and EVERYTHING is there. Thanks. Terrific product!

Really great
I have been trying out Acronis True Image 8. I couldn't believe backup
could be this easy! I used to be loyal to Symantec, but they have taken me
to Hell - and left me there. Ghost 2003 takes 7 hours to back up to my
external USB drive, and collapses if I ask it to use USB2. ATI works without complaint, and backs up in 14 minutes.

The best backup solution!
I have been shopping around for a decent backup solution for years now. I have purchased Symantec's Ghost, PowerQuest's Drive Image Pro and now True Image 8. This is the product I have been looking for. It is incredibly versatile and easy to use. It quickly backs up my
drives with a minimum amount of fuss. I love the CD-based rescue disc and the ability to backup to USB external hard disk, or even another machine on my home network. I highly prefer this method over the trend set by PowerQuest of having to run a bloated, .NET based service
on top of Windows in order to backup the operating system in place while it's running.
This is exactly the program I needed to keep my machines backed up. Keep up the great work and don't change a thing. This is the best
drive imaging software on the market bar-none. As a network administrator, I will be your biggest evangelist in attempting to get my
company to make the switch from Symantec to the Enterprise version of TrueImage.
Great program folks - the competitors can't hold a candle to it - and it's a great bargain at this price.

the best one!
I have recently purchased Acronis True Image 8 after years of using powerquest's drive image and can
honestly say this is a fantastic product, superior in all areas not only to powerquest but also to other
products out there, it is easy to use and images my computer perfectly
thanks acronis

Top product
I liked the reviews so much I decided to trial TrueImage and I wasn't disappointed. It's easy to use, robust, reliable and fast! I have done two successful restores from the TrueImage backup. Both worked flawlessly and saved my bacon! I liked the product so much I purcahsed their PartitionExpert product as well. It's equally as good.

Does the impossible!
Backs up any partition - even the active system one - without rebooting. If only I could script it for unattended execution it would be perfect.

Finest software
I'm amazing with it !
Page: 1 2
This is the best hard disk cloning software I can ever find.
It is very reliable creates exact copy of the hard disk and has
an amazing speed of creating and restoring backups. On my P4 System I
need quarter to hour to install windows. Where as Acronis restores
the image of installed XP in just 5 to 7 minutes. It has also the
features of compressing the image of a backup which is a great help
for space saving. For instance a 6 GB backup can be compressed upto
3 GB image which is 100% compression with amazing speed, efficiency
and skill. Only it lacks one feature which I think is possible to be
added in the coming versions of this software. That is to create images
of installed softwares and the registry selectively.
This feature will work in three phases. 1. Search for the installed
programs on a system. 2. Search for all of the files related to that
program and also the registry. 3. Make the image of those installed
softwares selectively so that time can be saved. Softwares like
Antivirus need frequent updates and on system crash it becomes a
headache to update again even though the latest backup was one week
ago. It would really be nice and helpful feature. How I can say it is
achievable? Well to uninstall programs I use Revo Unistaller and it
finds all the files and registry keys related to that program so that
they could be chosen to delete and thus the program is completely
removed. In this feature the program will search the registry and all
related files in similar way and will make an image of those programs
selected instead of deleting them. My Final lines would be this that
this is the best software in the thing it claims. It can be made even
more better.
