5 Star Rating The best backup solution!, Fri Jan 28 2005
Reviewed By: Mike

I have been shopping around for a decent backup solution for years now. I have purchased Symantec's Ghost, PowerQuest's Drive Image Pro and now True Image 8. This is the product I have been looking for. It is incredibly versatile and easy to use. It quickly backs up my
drives with a minimum amount of fuss. I love the CD-based rescue disc and the ability to backup to USB external hard disk, or even another machine on my home network. I highly prefer this method over the trend set by PowerQuest of having to run a bloated, .NET based service
on top of Windows in order to backup the operating system in place while it's running.

This is exactly the program I needed to keep my machines backed up. Keep up the great work and don't change a thing. This is the best
drive imaging software on the market bar-none. As a network administrator, I will be your biggest evangelist in attempting to get my
company to make the switch from Symantec to the Enterprise version of TrueImage.

Great program folks - the competitors can't hold a candle to it - and it's a great bargain at this price.

I liked the reviews so much I decided to trial TrueImage and I wasn't disappointed. It's easy to use, robust, reliable and fast! I have done two successful restores from the TrueImage backup. Both worked flawlessly and saved my bacon! I liked the product so much I purcahsed their PartitionExpert product as well. It's equally as good.

Backs up any partition - even the active system one - without rebooting. If only I could script it for unattended execution it would be perfect.

Revently discovered this program after using Ghost & DriveImage for years but this one works great (for beginners & professionals). It let me even clone a Compaq Professional Workstation which failed with Ghost & DriveImage. I recently also tried their other products & i'm quite amazed. This company deserves much more attention. If you read pc-magazines, they always talk about Ghost & DriveImage but on the other hand, mostly these magazines are also full of advertising by these companies.

5 Star Rating Saved my data, Fri Dec 13 2002
Reviewed By: Gozer

Once I decided to take the hard disk from my home PC and bring it to my friend to share our movie archives. I have had some experience with such operations, so I was aware that it will easy. Generally, it really is. But only God knows, why there always are some problems that are likely to arise at the very moment you do not want them. So it was in my case.
I was going to connect my hard drive (Quantum Fireball, 15 GB) as a ‘slave’ to the same loop that connected my friend’s disk (Seagate, also15 GB) to motherboard. Everything seemed to go well, but when I was plugging the pin connector (differs a little from that on my PC), I heard some ‘creck’, but I didn’t pay much attention to this. CMOS successfully detected the ‘alien’ and at the beginning of booting we even saw my Win2k along with friend’s XP in boot menu. We booted XP…And here troubles began. I opened ‘My Computer’ folder, then clicked to my ‘local drive I:’ and – guess what I saw? – ‘DISK IN DRIVE I: IS NOT FORMATTED. FORMAT IT NOW? ‘ . Yeah, such messages are rather killing. We tried to reboot, but things didn’t change. May be that was due to improper plugging, but I thought that all my data were lost and was prone to format my drive ….
But – thank God! – my friend is a long-standing user of Acronis’ software and he had recently installed Partition Expert. This clever tool not only instantly recognized everything and displayed my disk as it was (with all its partitions and percentage of used/free space) but also was capable of performing such operations on it as defragmentation , checking for errors and many other. I saw that all my data were present, then brought my disk back home, plugged it to the ‘native’ place and successfully backed up all my files before taking it to my friend’s again.
Was it not Partition Expert present on my friends computer - I would format my disk and lose data.

5 Star Rating An outstanding software, exceeded all expectations, Tue Dec 03 2002
Reviewed By: Brand new day

I’ve been using Symantec backup products so far and I couldn’t imagine that one shouldn’t quit Windows to create a reserve copy. But this ultimate program – True Image – utterly changed my mind.
By golly, it works as advertised!!! I started backup process and continued my urgent work, simultaneously listening to the music. It’s really impressive. Twenty minutes – and I’ve got an image of my system partition C. I have almost forgotten about it when True Image carefully told me, that backup successfully completed.
I strongly recommend this software.
But try not to become lazy with such a convenient tool! :)

This one's a no brainer. Buy it!
With this gem you can clone a volume to an image on a network drive then mount it to an available drive letter. Why the big deal? Makes possible to reclaim hard disks and provide instantaneous access to archived volume(s). da ;^)
Acronis TrueImage Deluxe not the same thing Norton GHOST.
