I have 2 problems, first when I get onto the boat (dressed as a soldier after the march) I cannot go to the fron of the boat, theres a guy there on deck who is in the way! (looking out and saying something about getting a tan)
and second, when i tried to install the patch it said i didnt have ff7 installed in the first place!

I kept crashing at the submarine part of the game until I downloaded this. Now it's working perfectly (so far so good, not to the 3rd disc yet). A little tip for anyone that gets an error message when trying to install this game: If any system files are mentioned (such as autodetect.nt) then go to start, run, and type in c:\windows\system32\repair, from there, copy both autodetect.nl and config.nt into c:windows\system32. Now edit both files via right-click and properties and check the box for read-only. Afterwards enjoy the install.

If you get errors or crash during movies there is a patch out there to fix and make the configuration detect your card and use better settings too

this xp patch wont work for me it wont load up the game when i install this patch so im still stuck in the prison before chocobo race =[ =[ =[ =[ =[

Okay, so, every time I get to the boss fight at reactor 5, with the shinra robot thingy, I beat it, and right after the exp screen goes away, the game crashes. I've tried all kinds of patches, I've turned off my video and sound acceleration, I've tried all the different configurations...and it still crashes. If someone could help me, that'd be awesome. Oh, and for those who crash on Chocobo races, or at cosmo canyon, there's official patches out for both of those problems...I'm not sure where, but just google FF7 patches, and you shouldn't have much trouble.

My heart sank like a 500 ton rock when my game crashed trying to race (Was all my progress for nothing?! Nuu!). This patch worked perfect for me and I can continue my game! Thank you!!

I agree the patch does solve initial scenes where the game to does freeze, ie the chocobo race and the tiny bronco scenes, but mine now keeps crahing at the northern mountain just when you are about to snow borad down the mountain.. any suggestions would be cool. Im right after the first parade in Junon but I can't go to the port for to see Rufus off or follow Rude into the basement without the game crashing or freezing. Anyone know the fix for this?
