Nice FTP server software which is really easy to use. Only downside is that it is really slow. On LAN connection you don't get over 1 meg/s speeds on transfers which is really strange. Would need some optimizations but otherwise really cool software.

No reason to look anywhere else for a complete and easy to use package. Although not listed it works on XP and XP-Pro without all the .NET and IIS garbage.

Great utility as freeware. Does exactly what a basic FTP server needs without all the bells and whistles. Thoroughly recommended

I run a web/ftp site. I tried almost all the FREE products enlisted here but landed on this FreeFTPd.
What i really like is that it is so simple and intuitive and user administration is so easy- you add the user, create a password hash file or simply use nt-authentication. its really impressive.

Seems pretty good to me!
Small program - only 938Kb installed! (That would fit on a floppy disk!) Really easy to install. Was mostly easy to use, but slight confusion on initial "Server is OFFLINE message." Needed to go into FTP settings and hit "start" button. Otherwise, straightforward to set-up. Like that it gave me the option to use my existing WinXP users (and passwords) to authenticate. I used it in my LAN to allow users on a PC without NetBios (IE: Internet & FTP only) to access files on my PC. And you sure can't argue that the price is not right.
