Forget expensive Norton and McAfee bloatware. This program is now the best antivirus available, is free, lightweight and has come a long way. It detects every trojan/virus you can throw at it, updates virtually ever day, and is not, unlike the aforementioned, a "scareware" program trying to frighten you into renewing your license. A+++++

I have used AVG for many years. Only once did I switch and that was when I got my new computer and Norton AV had a 6 month introductory offer that came with the computer. I installed it and used it for the 6 months. Then found out that it would cost me $12.00 a year to keep getting the upgrades! NO WAY! Went back to AVG and ran a full scan. It found 6 viruses that Norton had allowed into my computer. Nuf said about Norton. Running AVG 7.1 now and, as usual, no problems whatsoever. My advice is to save your money and use AVG. You won't be sorry that you did!

I have compared AVG with Norton, McAfee, PCcillin, and more. AVG has found every viris that the others have and has actually killed one that Norton - even the d/led DOS virius specific killer - could not. Moreover, it does not spread octupus-like throughout your OS as Norton does. Get it, you won't be sorry .

I have used norton system works plus firewall for the last four years,I recently changed to wifi connection broadband 20 mpbs. After the installation My Norton system went crazy, I was forced to take the entire system out, on the advice of norton and re-install.What a mess!! I installed AVG for anti-virus protection while I tried to get back my norton system from the Web.I soon realised that my computer now works much better without nortons protection.I have three months of nortons anti virus +firewall subscription remaining,I will however put my trust in AVG no more norton as I am so happy the way this computer now works. Thank you AVG.
