Decided to give this a shot after my latest version of Norton failed to install properly 100% (but still functioned) and things slowed down sooo much on my PC. In short, AVG speed is excellent with no noticable slowdown in PC performance. Updates are easy, app is very configurable. And by golly its free! I am certainly impressed with the product and would recommend anyone to try it out.

Excellent perfomance, Better than any other anti v
I was in search for a good antivirus software ever since the expiry of my previous anti virus software - Norton. I came to know about AVG Anti Virus and decided to try it first. The download took only 10-15 minutes with a cable broadband connection. You will have to run an update after its installation and it will not take less than 10 minutes. It comes with various tools such as Resident Shield, E-mail Sacnner, Scheduler and much more. It automatically installs any updates depending upon the schedule you've given. I was previously using Norton and it slowed down my System very much. With AVG, my system runs faster and moreover scanning system runs in the background. It also detected few viruses while I was downloading e-mails few days back. I can't imagine a day without AVG anti virus. I'm planning to install this on my laptop as well because of its excellent performance. I highly recommend this anti virus for all users and a million thanks for the developers.

A good anti virus system that works well.
The problem is the email scanner. This can be hacked as I found out, when my system strated to send out span emails with me knowing. The problem was traced to AVG's email scanner, which the firwall allows both in and out. So BEWARE if you do use find another programme to do your email, the rest of AVG is fine.

I have heard nothing but positive things about the avg anti virus so I download it to find out all the good things said are true. I had a lot of trouble with norton firewall and anti virus, but the AVG anit virus on the other hand is very user friendly and has a good update facility thanks avg :D
