What a software!! Until now I used have McCaffe virus program and even after paying a fee every year, I was highly disatisfied as it would not detect worms, Trojans etc. In desperation I tried the AntiVir PE Edition and boy it worked so well. It not only found 30 worms on my computer, but it also removed them (not like Ad-aware & spyware doctor, which detects it, however, will not remove it!!). The other problem it solved was that due to less use of the memory my computer does not give the notification regarding memory too low and often just shut it down due to the memory requirements. Overall a fantastic GERMAN product and the best part is that it is for free!! Somethign unbelievable but definitely TRUE!!

I USE NORTON ANTIVIRUS 2005 AND MY PC IS JUST FINE I DO KNOW WHAT IS IN MY PC MOST PEOPLE HAVE A THOUSAND ITEMS LOADING IN MEMORY AND THEN THEY BLAME SLOW PC ON NORTON PC MAKERS LIKE DELL AND COMPAQ ARE AT FAULT THEY SHIP OUT NEW PC WITH CRAP YOU DONT NEED..BUT HERE IS MY TIP IF YOU WANT TO STAY VIRUS FREE DO THIS...STAY AWAY FROM ADULT WEBSITES MANY TODAY ARE TRAPS FOR TROJAN VIRUS AND SPYWARE ALSO STAY AWAY FROM CRACK AND SERIAL WEBSITES THEY ARE 100% LOADED WITH ALL TYPES OF TRAPS..AND SADLY LYRICS WEBSITES HAVE BECOME A TRAP I DONT VISIT ANY OF THOSE WE HAVE 2 PC'S RUNNING WINDOWS XP PRO WITH NORTON 2005 AND SHARRING CABLE MODEM THRU A ROUTER THAT PROVIDES FIREWALL SUPPORT AND HAVE NEVER NEVER GOTTEN INFECTED WITH ANYTHING BUT AGAING WE USE OUR PC'S FOR RESEARCH AND JUST ABOUT ANYTHING LEGIT WITH OUT GOING ANYWHERE NEAR THOSE MENTION BEFORE..HACKERS KNOW THAT A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ARE ADDICTIVE TO PORN AND WILL VISIT THIS WEBSITES SO THEY TRAP IT WITH TROJANS AND VIRUS AND NASTY SPYWARE LIKE CWS MORE THAN 100 OF THOSE ON THE INTERNET AND WAREZ WEBSITES ARE THE WORSE THE FEDS SHOULD SHUT THEM DOWN ANY WAY I JUST WANTED TO SHARE THAT INFO..THANK YOU

I'VE BEEN USING FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS NOTON, KASPERSKY, PANDA AND BITDEFENDER V8 AND THEY ALL FAILED ME. THEN I DECIDED TO TRY ANTIVIR PE AND BOY WAS I IMPRESSED!!! VERY LITTLE SESOURCE IS NEEDED, DETECTES AND ELIMINATES MORE DE 167000 VIRUSES, WORMS AND TROJANS (WHEN UPDATED). IF YOU REALLY WANT A FAST, CLEN COMPUTER THEN DOWNLOAD ANTIVIR NOW!!! VERY LITTLE DL 4MB! DOWNLOAD IT!

Why I recommend this av.
I have installed this antivirus program on family members' computers for a few important reasons:It's free.AntiVir PE updates daily.Staying current on virus definitions is very important!It will run fine on an older pc with limited RAM.Another plus is the ease of use.It can easily be set to scan memory,boot sector,check the system, and system files.I have used many av programs and this is the only free program that I would use on my personal computer.On dialup updates could be better if they were incremental rather than the current larger(2980 something kb)virus definitions size.No av program is perfect and this the only possible "con" that I have noticed.Considering that this is a free program and it works so well,the updates size isn't a factor for me when recommending it.

Yes.. antivir is an excellent program; free, tiny size, 99% detection, daily update, no ads, hidden guard, etc..

i've used antivir since i bought my PC.. 3 years without any re-formation and system error..

i dont bother its simple interface as long as the program is powerful in protecting my PC..

i really recommended this free product!

With the smallest footprint of any I've tested, it has the most bullet-proof protection I've found. I work in retail and sacrifice sales of Nortons and McAfee in order to protect my customers. In exchange, I have become a retail ... god!
It works as flawlessly in old 200mhz computers as it does in the new multi gigs. Everbody, and I mean everybody, should use it.

i was having trouble updating my avg free edition so i tried antivir. i was suprised that antivir was free and it could pick up over 80000 viruses. if anyone wants to have a good antivirus have antivir. and i did a test when i had avg installed i ran a scan avg picked up nothing but when i installed antivir it found elevern viruses so really people may think the crap antiviruses are the free ones but there not. if your a bigginer or just had a new pc have antivir. ive got to give it 5 out of 5 good luck. and does anyone know if antivir picks up worms

AntiVir is one of the best a/v's and by far the best free one. It loads a little slower that avg but protects a whloe lot better.

Previously i was using several other antivirus programs such as McAcfee as well as Norton AntiVirus, and after using AntiVir for 3 years, my conclusion is that AntiVir is the most effective and efficient Virus, trojan horses, Dialer detector that consumes very little system resources (the opposite of Norton). Though it's Free, frequent updates is available and can be easily downloaded through its integrated updater. Tip for use: In Configuration section -Unwanted Programs- Tab, choose -select all- to prevent all malicious programs.
