Review for WinZip
I don't know why people even bother downloading this worthless piece of crap that basically only decompresses zip files; it has support for mime, UUE, and even tar files but it just doesn't seem to cut the mustard! Is that all what it can suport?
Please!; I think you had enough time to develop a tool that can decompress other file type archives[esp. rar]; I mean how could winzip not have support for rar files?
Face it, Winrar has better % ratio packaging plus has support for 14 file type archives!; it's GUI may not seem so pretty but it still kicks ass!
Speaking of GUI; I find many reviews out there suggesting that winrar is hard to use!
On the contrary, it's winzip thats hard to use! You see, I find the wizard interface hard,; Winrar's is much more simpler.
In Conclusion I was anticipating winzip to do much more than support/create zip files. But actually with all the upgrades they've added to their product;
Winzip in reality is supposed to be intended for Windows 3.x
It's probably because of this reason why winzip has mantained it's popularity and why it still survives!
Well, because Winzip has been there for a very long time and by now many users remain loyal to the zip format.
For all those heavy downloaders; I'd recommend finding some other archiver with much more capabilities & features than winzip! Seriuosly I think winzip is a big waste a money for what little it can do!
