Virto Incoming Email Feature Description:
Virto Incoming E-mail Feature - new simple and effective service for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 for routing & collecting incoming e-mails from IMAP and POP3 Servers. Virto Incoming e-mail feature collects e-mail messages from multiple IMAP or POP3 Servers and puts the information from the messages into a predefined SharePoint list of any type including custom ones.
Special list for collecting e-mail messages is provided in the Virto Incoming E-mail Feature. The list includes a set of fields required for correct e-mail collecting.
Fields EmailTo, EmailCc, EmailFrom, EmailSubject, EmailHtmlBody are added to the list automatically. Original email format and all attachments are saved in the list attachment.
Email Document Object Model (EDOM) for developers is supported. Attachments are extracted from Outlook in "winmail.dat" file.
The service is often used for organizing some help desk or customer support services, where processing incoming mail usually serves as the first step in the workflow scheme.
