Wow! These guys have a lot of guts. Few children’s book publishers are willing to honor real kids’ feelings and experiences but instead take the easy way out and just distract them with escapist stories. The Magic Carpet and the Cement Wall is a fine fantasy adventure but, much more, is a book that truly understands how millions of them actually feel.
