Yes, this thing works and it's free. That doesn't make it the best. I've used Cute FTP forever and found this Program to be bloated and a pain in the rear to use. Way too much for the beginner and more than most even need! K.I.S.S!

SIMPLE TO USE

Simply put, this is the best FTP software you can acquire for FREE. I was having trouble connecting with another program, so I decided to try SmartFTP. The interface is very "user-friendly" and it connected on the first try. The ability to click and drag and have multiple sessions open is also extremely helpful. Great software.
