IDAutomation File Replicator Description:

IDAutomation File Replicator is a backup, mirror and file synchronization utility that synchronizes your data files in different directories (replicas) on Windows PCs or servers. This allows multiple files to be accessed and modified on any system with a replica. The modified files are then transferred to the other PCs bi-directionally when they are replicated. This utility also keeps a complete history of all updated files and creates backup copies of any files that are deleted or moved.

When used with your laptop, it also becomes an off-site storage service for disaster recovery. In the event of a hard drive crash, a complete ready to use set of files is on the other system(s). For example, this product is commonly used in the following configurations:

* Users with laptops replicate to the server when they are in the office, so they have access to all necessary files when they travel. For example, a laptop user replicates their My Documents folder with their Home Directory on the server when in the office. This also ensures that all local files are available on the server and that old copies of updated or deleted files are available on the laptop if they are needed.
* Internet Explorer favorites can be synchronized between two or more PCs.
* As a SOHO backup utility, replicas are created on 2 or more PCs without the need for a dedicated server.
* Home office users synchronize files to the corporate server over a WAN link at night to provide high speed access to files during work hours.
* In organizations with many locations, shared files are replicated between file servers over a WAN link
