HDD Regenerator Description:

HDD Regenerator application screenshot

HDD Regenerator repairs bad sectors using an unique hardware independent technology developed by Dmitriy
Primochenko. It supports many types of hard drives and repairs damage that even low-level disk formatting cannot
repair. As a result, previously unreadable information is restored. Because of the way the repair is made, the existing
information on the disk drive will not be affected!

Operating System Support: WinXP, Windows2003, Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vi

44444 I feel better

What Reiche means is that although HDD Regenerator reports that bad sectors have been repaired, SmartDrive warnings are NOT removed from the memory chips on the hard drives' circuit cards.

A little googling around the internet, and it sounds like there are a lot of people that have assorted reasons for wanting to "clear the SMART errors" from their hard drives. That includes people who have successfully used HDD Regenerator!!

Aside from a $6000 software utility, I have not heard of any other method of clearing the SMART errors. Conspiracy Theorist suggest that hard drive manufactures are happy to give us a reason to buy new hard drives, regardless of whether we still actually need them or not.

One problem that was reported was a computer that required the User to hit Continue every time his computer was booted up. Regardless of his belief that he had cleared the problem with his hard drive (I think it got SMART error from an HDD-cable failure), he was unable to clear the SMART-error reports, and was stuck having to babysit the computer every time it booted up so he could hit Continue.

At this point, it appears to me that the problem is an intentional problem with the SMART system. I don't think we can blame HDD Regenerator for this problem, although it would be nice if the SMART system would provide for clearing the error flags under valid conditions (such as successful HDD Regenerator process).
There were a couple of glitches using HDD Regenerator. It complains that it can't take control of the hard drive, because it's being used. It doesn't tell you what program is causing the problem.

I went into Task Manager, and started ending application, services, etc., until there was almost nothing left, and still HDD R complained.

No buttons would fix the problem, and finally, the only button left was "Quit." So I hit Quit, and then HDD R started to run.

The next time I ran HDD R, it gave me the same complaint. Instead of closing any applications, I went right to Quit, and the program utility running.

Very sloppy.

Also, the marketing information says that in my Demonstration version, only one sector will be repaired. When I ran HDD R, it reported I had 9 Bad Sectors, and then it repaired them.

Certainly, I'm not complaining that it repaired more than it promised, but it would be nice if the limitation of the Demo Version were more accurately stated.

If you start with the demo version, I hope you'll have similar success to what I had.

Anyway, a little bumpy, so four out of five sofotex-stars.

55555 Simply expectacular

Simply expectacular. I have recovered hard disks that I believed lost, especially hard disks of portable computers. Though others could not recover, but due to the fact that the damages were to physical level. But for my this program it has been a benediction.

33333 Your disk is still bad

While HDD Regenerator might repair bad sectors, your disk is still bad and needs to be replaced.
