Eureka Email's intelligent filtering is based upon a software "brain" which ensures that junk mail is automatically placed in a "Junk" folder rather than in the In-box. The "junk threshold" of the filter can be set by the user and the software brain "learns" as it goes. The safeguards built into Eureka Email also include a child filter, where the junk threshold filter is set lower than for adult use, and junk mail is deleted rather than placed in a junk folder, so children never get to see offensive or sexually explicit e-mails.


As well as filtering junk mail and ensuring the safety of e-mail users, Eureka Email has a powerful intuitive graphical interface that makes e-mail more interesting to use. Each e-mail is represented by an icon rather than simply being presented in a list. Users can associate a particular icon with a sender, so they can see at a glance who an e-mail is from, and they can even associate particular sounds with a sender if they wish. A powerful one-click searching mechanism means that users can quickly find all e-mails from a particular person, domain name, with the same icon or with the same subject, to follow a "conversation".
