Review for DriveCrypt

DriveCrypt support is its downfall
I have used multiple Drivecrypt installations since 2003. Not a single upgrade has worked without problems. The only way to solve these problems has always been simple: Purchase a new "upgrade" or even a new package. This despite presumably free service upgrades or even registered upgrade service in my customer account.
The FAQ support section is unbelievably short. The upgrade menus are misleading. And support seems purposefully geared to lead you to other purchases.
The DC package is not bad, but the support issues are its downfall.

excellent product
I am using the product 2 years now and it works perfectly well. I love the possibility to encrypt an entire partition. 2 or 3 times i entered in contact with the support team and they answered my question immediately. One time i also used the live help system on their homepage and also there the resolution where quick.
I was looking for a software package that would provide decent on the fly encryption independent of windows, with good performance being the priority. There are a variety of encryption methods to choose from and the performance varies a great deal from one method to another. So I contacted their online chat support and asked them what seemed to be a simple question; "Which encryption method is fastest?" They had no idea. I would *never* buy from a company whose support is ignorant of such basic information about their own product. Not even having something as simple as benchmark data. Be WARNED!
