Documalis Free Scanner Description:
Documalis Free Scanner is free software for document digitization. It has a simple and friendly interface like Microsoft Office 2007 and it is capable of driving any scanner compatible with Twain or via. Digitized documents can be previewed on the screen, and then converted directly to PDF, JPEG, BMP, PNG or TIFF format.
Uses
Documalis Free Scanner can drive any scanner with or without document feeder and configure the resolution and the number of colours for digitization. The solution also manages recto/verso digitization, provides a function for the detection and deletion of blank pages automatically or manually, for flipping or replacing digitized pages.
Documalis Free Scanner can also be used as a photocopying accessory, with preview, flipping or reclassification of pages in a given document, with paper print out or virtual PDF.
Simplicity
Documalis Free Scanner places the digitized document on the hard disk or directly in a Documalis Free Basket for automated FTP transfer, email or copy in the network. For an even faster manipulation, digitized profiles can be defined, regrouping the parameters for the resolution, the number of colours, the output format and the directory for the saving of the document.
Guaranties
The digitized documents do not contain any publicity tag, the software is free and it can be used by individuals both personally and professionally. Documalis Free Scanner is virus-free, spyware or malware. Its aim is to promote the quality of the Documalis professional software.
Operating System Support: Win/95/98/XP

After two trials, I succeeded in downloading directly from the site of the producer. I installed it, but it doesn't work at all. The program runs for about 3 seconds (see LOG file) and stops.
