This program definitely works and is well worth the money. The worst time to "try" a program of this time though is when you really need its services. We had a problem with one of our computers and needed to recover a deleted partition and that is how we found out about this program. The only thing I didn't like about the demo was it let you see the deleted partition but you had to buy the program to actually recover the partition. When one is already stressing about your computer being down, the last thing you need is to be blocked from completing your mission. Fortunately, ordering the program online was quick so we had the partition back very shortly after trying the demo product. I think the company should seriously consider another form of a demo.

I had incidentally (or should I say intentionally) deleted a friend's FAT on a 80 gig harddrive, which had unfortunately never been back-upped before (so, as a standard rule of the book, please backup before you do something stupid like this)! You can imagine I was in great distress (my friend too when he realized what the consequeces might be). The harddrive was split up in three partitions, of which the bootpartition was used for OS software and application software only.

Irreplacable data were on the second en third partition.
At first I tried to restore the bootpartition and tried several diagnostic tools to see what files could be recovered, but none of the software tools I used offered the information I needed as Active@ Partition Recovery.
As APR was the only financially acceptable option left, I decided to go for it (as a last resort, since many IT professionals told me that my efforts would probably be futile).

To spare you all the details, I ran the program in real DOS mode on a second PC (connected the harddisk on the secondary IDE connector(start up in real DOS mode when you boot your PC, so do not run the program in Windows DOS mode). I cannot recall the time exactly but within minutes I saw the lost partitions with all directories, data etc. back again.

I was a long time ago I felt so much joy (I had to convince myself a couple of times of the fact that all lost data were back again).

My final word : even if you don't have any harddisk problems whatsoever, ARP for USD 30,- is an absolute steal for such fine and effective software. Everyone who is serious about his or her data should have a copy available.
I definitely recommend this software!
