not only does it play pretty much everything...you can record from a file while it's playing, you can change the visual properties (brightness, contrast, saturation) which is great for movies taken on digital camera when they're too dark - put the two features together and you can re-record your video so you can actually see things. and the software is free!

i cant say that i've tried all the media players out there but as far as i knw this is one of the BEST mediaplayer i knw. i dont have any complaints!
